Grisly, gruesome, and just plain downright dirty house clearances.
This was the most demanding assignments to date, a 3 bedroom terrace in Liverpool, we were instructed by the owner to provide a full clearance to the property.
Each room of property contained buckets of human waste, in the bedroom we found over one hundred and thirty empty Lynx deodorant aerosol cans, the occupier did not wash (no washing facilities in the house) but masked his body odour with the Lynx deodorant each day, our conclusion was that personal hygiene was nonexistent.
At some stage the occupier had a dog; we found half empty dog food cans the property was full of dog hairs.
The kitchen was filthy, bottles of milk had separated and had formed a cheese like substance, rotten food was scatter all over the room, and black bin bags were stacked chest high, literally thousands of maggots and dead fly’s were scattered on the worktops.
We arrived at the property at 8.00pm on the Monday, using a five man team; we cleared the lounge first to set up a base for our equipment, we need effective cleaning and fast disinfection to cope with things such as HIV-1, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), Salmonella, E.Coli, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and other viruses & bacteria, we use a disinfectant solution that can achieve a 99.999% broad-spectrum kill of vegetative bacteria in 30 seconds!
Once the lounge was cleared of all furniture, carpet and curtains we set about decontaminating the room. At 9.15am we started the full clearance.
