Be very careful with all personal documents as identity theft is a serious worldwide growing problem, you should protect yourself from this by treating all confidential documents cautiously.

If you wish to dispose of bank statements, spent legal documents, credit card receipts or health records one should seriously consider getting a shredder and destroying the documents.

Equally, be wary not to throw out documents you may later need. This is especially true if you are undertaking a house clearance for a deceased relative. Don't get rid of any official looking documents until the estate has been settled. If you are in any doubt talk to the solicitor or executor dealing with the estate.
